Deputy Prime Minister Foreign Minister Kudret Özersay is in Ankara today as he is taking part in the 11th Ambassadors Conference that is convening under the theme of “Robust Diplomacy: Active on the Ground and at the Table.
The official opening of the conference was realised with an inaugural speech by Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu.
Addressing the conference the Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu said that Cyprus is the national cause for Turkey.
“The Turkish Cypriot peoples’ political equality and security is essential. We do not exclude any solution that is based on this fact” said Çavuşoğlu.
Drawing attention to the recent developments in the Eastern Mediterranean he said that the Turkish side supports the wealth from the natural resources being shared fairly and through problems being shared through joint cooperation.
“The good intention shown by Turkish Cypriot officials should be praised. We will always protect the rights and interest of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and the Turkish Cypriot people” said Çavuşoğlu.
During the first day of the conference the Turkish Minister for Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy, Deputy Prime Minister Foreign Minister Kudret Özersay, Uzbekistan Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov and Jordan’s Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi will deliver speeches to the ambassadors.
Deputy Prime Minister Foreign Minister Kudret Özersay is expected to inform the ambassadors regarding the Cyprus issue and the latest developments in the Eastern Mediterranean.
