The Board of Directors of the Cyprus Turkish Chamber of Industry headed by the Chamber’s President Candan Avunduk paid a visit to the minister of Economy and Energy Özdil Nami yesterday.
Speaking there, Avunduk welcomed the formation of the new government and said it was not the quantity but the quality that counts.
Expressing the hope that the term of the coalition will be long and that it will work in harmony, he also expressed the belief that they will be working in harmony with Minister Nami during his term in office.
The Minister of Economy and Energy Nami for his part said that as they had underlined during the election process they put economy to the centre of all works.
Pointing out to the need for increasing the production and employment and therefore the level of welfare in the country, he said they will work towards achieving this.
Stressing that the people deserved a better life standard, he said this will be achieved together adding that the support expressed by the Chamber was very important for them.
Stating that the Cyprus Turkish Chamber of Industry was one of the leading institutions in the country and was also very important for them and the ministry, Minister Nami said “we are aware that there are a lot of problems and we are also aware of the priorities of your chamber. We will clarify these through close consultations during this period.”
