Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan made a statement regarding the natural resources surrounding the Eastern Mediterranean.
He touched upon the Greek Cypriot side’s unilateral hydrocarbon exploration in the Eastern Mediterranean by saying “we are saddened by their unilateral hydrocarbon exploration in the Eastern
Mediterranean that are doomed to fail.”
Erdoğan said Turkey continues to respond firmly to “impositions” in the Eastern Mediterranean.
Turkey has repeatedly warned the Greek Cypriot administration about its unilateral hydrocarbon exploration in the Eastern Mediterranean, saying Turkish Cypriots also have rights to the resources around the area.
He said that Turkey will continue to respond to these sorts of imposition both in the field and diplomatically.
“Everyone will see and understand in the end that these attempts that continue to disregard our country and our brotherhood will end in failure” said the Turkish President.
