President Mustafa Akıncı will meet with the Greek Cypriot leader Nicos Anastasiades on the 26th of February.
According to a statement released by the TRNC Presidency, the two leaders will come together at an unofficial meeting to be held at the residence of the UN Secretary General’s Special Representative in Cyprus Elizabeth Spehar at 10:30 am.
Meanwhile, President Akıncı will separately brief the government and the parliament on the course of the Cyprus problem.
According to information obtained from the TRNC Presidency, the President following his contacts with the UN Secretary General’s Temporary Consultant Jane Holl Lute and before his meeting with the Greek Cypriot leader Nicos Anastasiades on the last week of February is briefing the Council of Ministers today.
The President’s briefing of the Council of Ministers started at 2pm.
Meanwhile, President Akıncı sent a letter to the Speaker of Parliament Teberrüken Uluçay yesterday calling for an extraordinary parliamentary session.
The President will brief the parliament on the course of the Cyprus problem on Tuesday, the 19th of February.
